Donald Chiu

From his early years as one of Asia’s most sought after make-up artist to his flourishing career as a fashion and beauty photographer, Donald Chiu has always had a magic touch when comes to visual styling.

Fashion and beauty photography provides the best way for Donald to mix his love for lighting and composition, with his impeccable eye for details. His vibrant, skin rich images are winning clients across the globe, from Olay, Shiseido, Shu Uemura, Lux, Za to gracing the covers of Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Madame Figaro, and to his credit are masterfully rendered campaigns for CK Platinum, Diesel, Evisu, Van Cleef & Arples, Audemars Piguet, Swarovski and KTZ.

In 2009 - 2011 together with Shu Uemura released their collaboration products into the beauty scene.

In 2011 Donald released his first photo-book shot with international supermodels on location at World Heritage Sites to help raise funds for the Crossroad Foundation.

In 2013 he released his second book for Pink Revolution, an annual breast cancer awareness and fundraising campaign for Hong Kong Cancer Fund.

2015 was yet another productive year, his unique mix of craft got Donald invited to become the ambassdor of Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation.

October 2016 Donald Chiu co-founded Popstar Cosmetics and currently providing creative approaches to the brand direction.

He is currently based in Hong Kong, where he works from his Hong Kong Island studio, but travels regularly on assignment. 

In his quest for beauty, it is the people surrounding him that inspire his boundless enthusiasm and creativity.
